Technical Writer
Job Title: Sr. Specialist, Technical Writer Job Code: 18728 Job Location: Dayton, OH Job Schedule: 1st Shift M-F Job Description: The Sr Specialist, Technical Writer is responsible for creating, developing, planning, writing and editing operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Essential Duties: + Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for non-technical and technical users. + Conducts interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation. + Documents engineering processes and specifications. + Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements. + Produces products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards. + Manages complex projects and processes with general oversight. + Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. + Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. + Requires travel to customer sites and Wright-Patterson AFB. + Ability to obtain and maintain a TS DoD Clearnace. + Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of prior techanical writing experience. + Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance. + Graduate Degree with four (4) years of prior technical writing experience. + In lieu of a degree, minimum of ten (10) years of prior technical writing experience. + Must be a US Citizen. #AH-LI1 L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
