Title:

Technical Writer

KBR is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team in support of our Information Analysis Center Multiple Award Contract (IAC MAC) contract in our Orange Park, Florida location. The Department of Defense Information Analysis Center (DoD IAC) Multiple Award Contract (MAC) supports Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) services and other R&D related analytical services to advance scientific and technical information (STI).

Job Description:

Research, write, and edits technical data: Ensures documents and publications are accurate and follow established procedures.

Collaborates with internal and external customers: Ensures technical documentation is complete and accurate.

Coordinates with internal support organizations: Works with various teams to gather necessary information.

Establishes style guidelines: Assisting in setting standards for text and illustrations.

Integrates various inputs: Considers task and project requirements, as well as different theories and concepts, in job performance.

Supports proposal compiling/editing: Assists in the preparation and editing of proposals.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree.

In lieu of a degree, 10 years of equivalent related experience.

Experience:

Must have at least two years of experience working with military technical documents and integrated logistics support (e.g., ARs, MIL STDs, MIL-PRFs, IETMs, TPDRs, DIDs).

Naval aviation maintenance experience is a plus.

Must be able to prepare draft material for internal and customer review.

Must be able to adapt to continuously changing and new information and programs.

Must be able to present data to various levels of management.

Technical understanding:

Must have experience researching, reviewing, and understanding technical information to develop procedural documentation.

Office equipment proficiency:

Must have experience operating personal computers, printers, copy machines, telephones, fax machines, and other office tools as required by the contract.

Flexibility:

Must be able to work flexible hours to meet critical mission requirements as required by the contract.

Travel:

Must be able to travel as required by the contract. This may involve local and airline travel.

Security Clearance:

Government security investigation: The selected applicant may undergo a security investigation.

Must be eligibility for classified information: Must meet the requirements to access classified information.

Additional Qualifications (Technical Proficiencies):

Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle products: Proficiency in these tools is required

XML authoring: Must have experience in creating and managing XML documents.

Desired Experience:

ASD S1000D process Data Modules: Familiarity with this international specification for technical publications.

EAGLE Publishing System: Experience with this system is highly desirable.

NAVAIR Enterprise Common Source Data Base: Experience with this or an equivalent capability.

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40 hours/week.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation.
