**Job Description:**
The **Technical Writer** in the Engineering organization will be responsible for technical writing and publishing tasks for multiple sites. This includes producing and maintaining technical documents such as Instructions for Use, Installation instructions, Service instructions, and Quick Start guides for different kinds of medical products and software. This position will also assist resolving customer issues by evaluating new methods and mediums to communicate effectively with them so an open and curious mind for documentation development is a positive asset. The Technical Writer works closely with cross functional and cross site teams including Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Regulatory and others.
The position utilizes knowledge in their own domain while still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills to solve straightforward problems. The position builds personal knowledge of the company, process, and customers to analyze possible solutions using standard procedures and receives moderate level of guidance and direction. We're offering a hybrid schedule for this position.
**Job Requirements:**
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Own end-to-end process of technical documentation including content creation, document layout, translation, and publishing to various systems.
+ Work closely with various teams and departments to understand and outline project requirements.
+ Coordinate workflow and project schedules with technical writing team lead and local management.
+ Coordinate translations with 3rd party agencies and re-use from internal database.
+ Creation and manipulation of illustrations (vector graphics, 3D rendering, 3D CAD illustrations, photography etc.)
+ Manage complex and overlapping change requests to technical publications.
+ Ability to work in cross-functional and global environments - ability to work efficiently across cultures and time zones.
+ Research and work towards creating user-friendly content that meets needs of the target audience and improve the user experience.
+ Completes other duties as assigned.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or relevant technical field preferred
+ 2+ years of experience as a technical writer or related experience
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Proficiency with DITA XML based documentation and software (e.g. Oxygen XML), CMS and publishing engines.
+ Familiarity with Adobe suite of tools (primarily FrameMaker, InDesign, and Photoshop)
+ Familiarity with ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English controlled natural language.
+ Familiarity with medical device regulatory requirements for accompanying documentation.
+ Proficiency with vector graphics, 3D modeling and rendering, CAD illustration.
+ Self-directed and problem-solving oriented personality.

**Target Market Salary Range:**
Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
