Job Overview:
Primoris Services Corporation’s corporate Fleet team is searching for an experienced Technical Writer with proven experience in writing and editing technical business processes. This position will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, revising, and developing standard operating procedures, policy and instruction procedures and manuals, work instructions and technically/ safety protocol and document best practices. This position will also continuously ensure that documents are updated, streamlined, maintained- and archived appropriately.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Create and write standardized Fleet business policy, procedures and develop user manuals, job aides, tailboards, how to guides, FAQs and process map workflows per business requirements. Gather research information through interviews, field observations, and review of current business requirements. Evaluate and determine applicability of all input to ensure compliance with requirements. Maintain files and records of the research and final documentation. Generate and revise procedure basis documents. Provide complete history documentation for each procedure change. Screen procedure change requests for suitability and clarity and provide feedback as necessary. Sponsor changes to procedures. Sponsor other discipline procedure changes if technically knowledgeable of the changes. Facilitate procedure changes and assist personnel in the use and interpretation of procedures. Provide technical assistance to personnel in areas of expertise. Perform independent technical reviews of procedures and as directed by management. Participate in project and/or schedule development to coordinate and integrate procedure support with activities of other line of business. Accomplish tasks in a safe manner. Foster teamwork, innovation and embrace new approaches to accomplish our tasks more efficiently. Experience working cross-departmentally to communicate the nuts and bolts of business processes. Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension. Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions. Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure and form documentation Supports the Fleet organization with other regulatory requirements or assigned projects.Education and Experience Requirements:
S degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or equivalent experiences. 8 years’ experience as a Procedure/Technical Writer. Fluency in technical and common office software. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience working with content in multiple mediums. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment. Possess a positive attitude, willing to jump in and tackle new challenges. Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills. Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills. Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter. Ability to check all technical material for consistency and accuracy. Strong experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous leadership experience. Previous Fleet experience. Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Skill in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to effectively express ideas and information through the spoken word using language that is appropriate to both the complexity of the topic and the knowledge and understanding of the audience. Ability to break down information into components, identify underlying principles or facts, and recognize interrelationships; shows insight into the root-causes of problems or issues. Ability to develop and maintain work relationships, contacts, and networks; demonstrates skill in achieving cooperation from others to achieve a goal. Ability to deal with interpersonally and/or politically challenging situations calmly and diplomatically, diffusing tension; facilitates communication and resolves problems. Experience working with the following tools is a plus: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Confluence/JIRA.Company Overview:
