Summary You will serve as a Technical Writer (Engineering) in the Metrology Branch, FST Engineering Division of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. Responsibilities You will independently make significant modifications to standard practices, techniques and procedures. You will develop comprehensive reports of project results, conclusions, and recommendations. You will coordinate revisions or editorial changes with appropriate personnel including writers, trade, and skill personnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: Providing technical assistance and advice to engineers and technicians on complex problems related to modification and operation of procedures as they apply to calibration of components and measurement systems. Coordinating revisions or editorial changes with appropriate personnel including writers, trades and skilled personnel. Developing draft calibration procedures used by calibration laboratories to ensure test equipment is operating within specified ranges and accuracies. Exercising editing skills in the review of the presentation of ideas via words, tables, graphs, drawing, diagrams, appendices and other illustrative material. Researching instructions, manuals, and other technical references to resolve special problems relating to styles or manner of presentation of technical instructions in prepared publications and determine the type of presentation best suited for personnel using such material. Providing technical writing support related to test and measurement equipment calibration and verification procedures.
