As a professional, you’ll join our collaborative team providing our clients with award-winning planning, engineering, architectural design, construction management, and design-build project delivery. We are looking for a Technical Writer & Equipment Specialist in Conshohocken who is driven by collaboration, exceeding expectations, and challenging the status quo.
By developing and delivering on project scopes, budgets, reports, contracts, and schedules, you’ll help our teams achieve our client’s objectives. Your keen ability to multi-task, communicate effectively and tackle project challenges will allow you to thrive in our fast-paced environment. You’ll bring your expertise to solve complex problems, ensuring the soaring success of our Advanced Facilities projects. You’ll also provide motivation and direction to project teams and be surrounded by expert mentorship and mentoring opportunities to help you and your team thrive.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to multi-task; responsible for multiple projects at a time.
• Developing project specific specifications for mechanical utilities and HVAC systems
• Coordinating with technical writers from other disciplines (such as piping, architectural)
• Preparing equipment pre-purchase bid packages, coordinate with Procurement Dept.
• Performing vendor equipment proposal technical bid evaluations.
• Performing construction assistance in the form of submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits to verify construction
• Coordinating with equipment vendors on technical seminars and product offerings.
• Maintaining master specification and technical libraries.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, mechanical or architectural preferred; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
• At least 10 years of commercial or industrial construction experience.
• Competency in creation and editing technical or industry-based documents.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (including but not limited to Word and Excel); competency in Adobe and/or Bluebeam programs.
• Demonstrated time management skills, experience delivering on deadlines
Ideally you'll have:
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) required
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden department knowledge base
• General knowledge of pharmaceutical and biotech facility design preferred
• Knowledge of building codes and industry standards preferred.
• Construction and field support experience preferred.
