Job Description: The Technical Writer will review and edit highly specialized, technical documents to improve their quality, clarity, and consistency. Examples of documents include, but are not limited to, medication coverage policies and position statements, patient-educational materials, comparative effectiveness research of medications, and scientific studies. Responsibilities: + Review and edit highly specialized, technical documents to improve quality, clarity, and consistency. + Document process/data flows initially. + Coordinate activities with all levels of staff and external business partners through clear and concise verbal and written communication. + Organize, plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects within time constraints. + Negotiate and resolve complex and sensitive project and team issues with diplomacy and persuasiveness. Additional Skills & Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in science, journalism, communications, or a related field, and at least 4+ years of experience in health journalism, medical writing, or another field of technical journalism, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + Ability to understand complex, specialized information and accurately distill and present it with clarity and consistency to a diverse range of audiences. + Ability to create and manage Word and PowerPoint templates with consistent formatting, layout, and structure. + Demonstrated excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible in the face of shifting deadlines and multiple, concurrent projects. + Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to communicate in different media. + Knowledge of marketing principles as they apply to the needs of the department. + Relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop and cultivate consulting skills to provide the best possible support to partners. + Strong ability to distill complicated, technical messages into consumer-friendly language.
