About the role:
In a Technical Writing Manager role, your skills will be at the core of changing the way the world pays, banks and invests. You’ll lead and manage a team of remote technical writers supporting a number of banking applications.
About the team:
Technology Knowledge Services (TKS) is transforming traditional technical documentation function at FIS into a modern, efficient, AI-driven service organization that is changing the way we enable our colleagues and clients.
The TKS team drives best practices in knowledge capture and transfer, embeds crowdsourcing into our DNA to streamline the production of structured knowledge artifacts, and enables consistent omnichannel knowledge delivery, while ensuring all FIS knowledge content remains relevant over time to drive maximum benefit.
What you will be doing:
Manage and support a world-class team of remote Technical Writers
Promote a results-focused approach and work-life balance by helping to balance assignments across the team when workloads are uneven, manage conflicting priorities, and prevent over-resourcing
Ensure Technical Writers effectively prioritize high-priority feature release work with other content, experience, and process improvements
Help Technical Writers refine their writing skills by spot-checking content and providing editorial feedback
Encourage efficient collaboration by supporting processes that align with the rest of the product and engineering teams
Create practices that encourage keeping documentation up to date and easily discoverable
Champion the use of AI
What you will need:
Experience in creating and managing banking software documentation
A clear philosophy about how to successfully manage remote technical writing teams
Proven experience in managing, mentoring, and training teams of Technical Writers
Experience working on production-level documentation
Self-motivated and robust organizational skills
Substantial written and spoken communication skills
Familiarity with DITA
Experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across a company
