What is the Opportunity?

 

Xtreme Powerline Construction (“Xtreme”), is an electrical distribution utility contractor in Port Huron, Michigan. Xtreme specializes in overhead distribution line repair, maintenance, and expansion services throughout the Eastern United States, and provides emergency restoration services for numerous clients across the U.S.

With support from the Supervisor and senior team members, the CAD Technician will be responsible for all facets of design drafting for our existing and perspective utility clients.

 

What You'll Do Here:

 

Support completion of design drawings, quantity calculations and administration for electrical utility projects using various software packages through close guidance with engineering and senior design staff. Ability to interpret field survey data, coordinate and communicate with field survey crews. Support engineers and senior design staff to ensure projects are delivered on time. Manage workload and provide updates to senior team members on project schedules. Performs other duties as required.

 

What You Bring to the Team:

 

Post-secondary education in Electrical / Civil Engineering program is an asset. Minimum of 1 year experience of CAD Utility Drafting experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation. Demonstrates ability to understand and maintain CAD standards. Experience with DTE specifications and standards is an asset. Previous field survey experience is considered an asset. Proficient with the use of computers and software, including Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.  Understanding of how to read electrical / civil engineering drawings and site plans. Effective written and verbal communication Able to work under and meet tight deadlines. Excellent safety and attendance record and previously demonstrated strong safety awareness.
