OBJECTIVE:
Performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas of; plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine service, electrical, tile work, furniture repair, upholstery, welding or vehicle servicing.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Many of the job responsibilities will be conducted in exterior and interior areas of the operation. Exterior activities will be carried out in year-round weather conditions. Interior work will be conducted on stage and back stage environments, including smoking areas. Work hours will fluctuate depending on projects, daily tasks and emergency situations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Always be NICE to fellow staff and players; find every opportunity to offer a friendly smile, wave and greeting Performs tasks relating to repairs and installations including carpentry, plumbing, equipment and furniture repair, and other repair person type jobs Responds to trouble calls and emergencies, performs basic repairs, such as plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, electrical and other minor repairs Identifies trouble calls requiring a specific trade to resolve the problem which is beyond the scope of work for a general maintenance person. In those situations, identify the trade required and obtain sufficient information for the trade to plan the job Cleans and maintains tools, shop and mechanical rooms Familiarity with safe and efficient use of hand power tools Utilizes department apprentices to perform tasks and provide them guidance and training to further their knowledge in the trade Understands and complies with federal, state and local regulations Understands and complies with Facilities Department and Casino policies and procedures Participates in training programs provided by the organizationNOTE: This description incorporates the most typical duties performed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate with supervisor
Ability to follow directions
Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures
Experience in using a variety of tools and equipment used in the trade.
Ability to interpret, understand and perform tasks utilizing blue prints, schematics equipment manuals, etc.
Ability to make rational and effective decisions on the job
Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
Proficient in at least three trades
Friendly and courteous personality
Able to work under minimal supervision
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Requires high school diploma or GED
Completed an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
At least 6 years of experience in the maintenance field
