POSITION OVERVIEW
The Technician, Laboratory reports to the Laboratory Supervisor and performs the Laboratory daily activities in the facility. The Technician, Laboratory performs analytical tests, ensures that analytical information is factual, accurate, and timely for the safe, reliable, and efficient Plant Operations, and understands business objectives so that the facility operates in support of business needs.
In addition, a Technician, Laboratory categorized as level 2 will perform other non-analytical Laboratory tasks (i.e., Housekeeping and Inventory etc.)
The Technician, Laboratory performs duties in a 12-hour daily rotational shift environment, including holidays, weekends, and nights. Availability to be On Call or Stand By may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Receive and record samples through the log-in process. Perform routine laboratory analyses to determine all process parameters per the Analytical Schedule providing accurate and timely analytical results. Perform Ad-Hoc analyses on routine or non-routine samples per Analytical Procedures. Operate and maintain lab equipment by following operating instructions. Monitor the availability of the supplies needed for analysis, and to make any needs for such supplies known to Laboratory Supervisor through proper procedure. Responsible for maintaining documentation, equipment, and laboratory in a clean and orderly condition. Dispose of waste by proper procedure. Follow the documented laboratory methods for sampling and testing of LNG and other hydrocarbon process streams, amine, water treatment systems, and other special samples without deviation of procedure. Comply with quality assurance and quality control of laboratory measurements and analyses. Comply with appropriate analytical techniques to help troubleshoot process problems. Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books. Ensure all laboratory activities are carried out in accordance with health, environment, and safety policies and procedures. Participate in the development of laboratory procedures and practices as needed. Conduct all laboratory activities in accordance with health, environment, and safety policies and procedures. Knowledge:
The Technician, Laboratory must have basic knowledge of scientific principles and laboratory practices. In addition, a Technician, Laboratory must have basic knowledge of laboratory best practices. Possess working knowledge of laboratory reporting software (LIMS) and chromatography systems. Knowledge of a variety of standard laboratory practices, procedures, and chemistry techniques. Has basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and terminology, especially of gas chromatography and titration.
Skills:
Exceptional teamwork skills. An acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines, industries, and governmental agencies. Able to work with a culturally diverse group of technical individuals whose skills cover the range required to operate and maintain the LNG terminal and Liquefaction production facilities. Possess the personality and ability to relate to and to establish a mutually respectful relationship with 1) management, 2) peers and 3) the various facility level workers (Plant Manager, plant supervision, and plant workers) whom are all responsible for ensuring good operations. Organized, planning skills, able to manage multiple activities and programs in timely fashion and with a high degree of accuracy, able to meet work deadlines. Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. Computer savvy including Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, Project, and PowerPoint.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education and Certifications: 2-year associate degree in chemistry, Biology, or related science field, or One (1) year of Analytical Laboratory experience per one (1) year of college courses along with a High School diploma. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in a laboratory setting performing analytical testing.OrTechnician, Laboratory 2
Education and Certifications: 4-year bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, or related science field, or 2-year associate degree in chemistry, Biology, or related science filed with two (2) years’ experience in a Laboratory setting preforming analytical testing, or four (4) years’ experience in a Laboratory setting preforming analytical testing along with a High School Diploma. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a laboratory setting performing analytical testing.DIRECT REPORTS

WORK CONDITIONS
Job is performed in an industrial plant setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, smell, type and write. Must be able to lift and move objects weighting up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors and outdoors, and exposed to year around weather conditions, ocean environment, noise, and occasionally process gases and vapors. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Required to pass regularly scheduled physical examinations mandated by regulatory authorities. May be required to obtain mandated certification by attending Company-sponsored training in basic first aid, CPR, and LNG firefighting. Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations. May be required to work overtime, as designated by business needs. Limited travel required, as business conditions dictate.
