Sanitation Technician:

 

Job Summary:

 

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all machinery, equipment and facilities to establish a clean environment for producing and packaging quality products.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Performs routine cleaning and sanitation of plant machinery, equipment and facilities

Performs plant sanitation in accordance with the plant Master Sanitation Schedule including overhead cleaning of pipes, ceilings, duct work, conduit, support structures and HVAC systems

Performs all related operations and tasks needed for completing sanitation of scheduled equipment inlcuding jogging, disassembly and reassembly of equipment

Utilizes powered cleaning equipment that may include powered lifts, scissors lifts, power washers, foam applicators, steamers, automatic compactors, motors and various non-mechanized equipment

Responsible for mixin, handling and verification various chemical concentrates

Completes all assigned daily reports at the end of each shift and delivers to Sanitation Coordinator

Complies with established safety practices and performs all tasks in a safe manner while promoting a safe work environment

Committed to providing a safe food product

Works within all regulatory requirements

Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements

Perform all other related duties as required

 

 

Job Qualifications:

 

Good written and verbal communication skills

Average Mathematical Skills

Skills and/or ability to gain knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and industry standard cleaning procedures

Basic knowledge of the function and operation of sanitation equipment

Skills and/or ability to gain knowledge of the basic functions of all production equipment 

Attention to detail and a sense of urgency in matters of food safety required

Must be able to freely move around entire facility

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to work 2nd shift
