Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Technician to perform mechanical services on new and used equipment in our service shop. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding equipment while ensuring all work is completed efficiently and safely. Additional responsibilities include documenting service reports, accurately tracking job time, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. The Technician is also responsible for shop organization (5S) and the proper care of company-issued tools and equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment (5S).Diagnose, repair, and service equipment in the shop.Accurately complete service reports, track time spent on jobs, and manage parts usage and returns.Provide excellent customer service by understanding needs and meeting deadlines while ensuring timely and high-quality repairs.Properly maintain and care for company-issued tools and equipment.Work independently while requiring moderate supervision.Qualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in diesel equipment repair is preferred.At least five years of hands-on experience in mechanical repair, particularly with heavy equipment.Strong knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, and electrical systems.Ability to take initiative, improve work processes, and contribute to shop performance metrics.Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, seek input, and propose solutions.Understanding of warranty administration, policies, and procedures.Strong customer service skills with a commitment to responsiveness and professionalism.Proficiency in industry-specific software and basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel, databases).Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate trucks of one ton or less.
