**Job Title: Inspection Technician**
**Job Description**
We are seeking reliable and professional Inspection Technicians to perform periodic facility inspections and surveys on utility-owned gas meters. This entry-level position requires individuals with mechanical ability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to walk and climb stairs and ladders throughout an 8-hour workday in various weather conditions.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform periodic facility inspections and surveys on utility-owned gas meters.
+ Complete all necessary documentation to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
+ Support the completion of regulatory audits and inspections.
+ Conduct integrity surveys, including direct assessments and close interval surveys.
+ Perform audit reviews with operations and support them during audits.
**Essential Skills**
+ Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
+ Professional demeanor with the ability to enter customers' homes.
+ Good communication skills to clearly convey job details.
+ Mechanical ability such as experience in cable tech, HVAC, piping, or auto mechanics.
+ Ability to walk several miles and be on feet for 8 hours without reasonable accommodations.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ 1+ years of professional experience with a consistent job history.
+ 1+ years of driving experience.
+ Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
+ Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills.
+ Ability to work both independently and in a team setting with minimal supervision.
+ Intermediate knowledge of mathematics, algebra, and mechanical aptitude.
+ Experience interfacing with technical services, government agencies, emergency planning committees, emergency responders, landowners, and contractors.

**Work Environment**
This is a 100% field-based position with flexibility to travel within the utility territory, primarily in Brooklyn and Queens. Training includes OSHA orientation, classroom instruction, homework, and practice exams. Operations hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, with optional Saturday shifts at the supervisor's discretion. Technicians will report to job sites using their own vehicles and receive their daily routes via tablet. Equipment provided includes a simple tool set, flashlight, gas detector, field binder, ID badges, tools/tool belt, handheld tablet, FR shirts, pants, safety vest, and hard hat.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Island City, New York.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
