Technician Job Number: 352040 Category: Engineering Technician Description: Job Title: Technician Location: Orlando, FL Zip Code: 32819 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Contract Pay Rate: Up to $32.11/hr DoE Keywords: #Technician #EngineeringJobs ***Ability to Obtain and Maintain Secret Security Clearance*** JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. * Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. * Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. * Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. * Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. * Maintains effective customer communications and relations. * Provide technical expertise working with other sustainment engineers in troubleshooting and repair of assets which requires active involvement with data, wiring diagrams, test equipment, software programs and the depot operating procedures. * Duties will include troubleshooting technical problems and issues, determining technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications and taking the proper actions to repair and returning serviceable hardware back to the customer. * Perform depot level repairs, rework, modifications, refurbishments of specific components of the system. * Operate general purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers and waveform generators) and uses basic AC/DC theory to read, interpret engineering drawings and schematics to conduct fault isolation of faulty components. * Perform limited supply duties (load/unload equipment). REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Must be a US Citizen * Must have an Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance * High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional technical training sufficient to perform preventive and demand maintenance tasks * Minimum of 1 Year of experience * Solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-772 desired * Must have experience with testing electro-optical components and/or systems as well as working with test equipment for these types of components. * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs * Ability to adapt to dynamic and frequently changing customer requirements * Ability to understand policies and procedures for the control of Government property * Ability to work with hazardous materials * Ability to mix and weigh chemicals * Ability to properly safety wire assemblies and connectors * Ability to solder and repair cables and harnesses * Ability to lift 35 pounds. * Must have safety shoes Benefits: * Medical / Health Benefits with multiple plan options, Flexible Spending Accounts, Dental and Vision / glasses / prescription contact lens and eye test options available. * On the job training / cross-training to develop and expand skills, creating opportunity for advancement and personal development.
