We are currently looking for a New York City based customer facing field technician to join our team! The individual is to play an integral part of the field operations team for a large-scale, logistically complex technology deployment program for a large K-12 client. This person is primarily responsible for the surveying, port/cable tracing, patch cabling, installing equipment, documenting, and integrating networks. In addition, this person must know basics about network infrastructure and cabling standards. This person must have a valid driver’s license and daily access to an automobile and be willing to drive daily to assignments throughout the five boroughs of NYC and occasionally to Long Island. This person will have to come into our Hauppauge, LI office at least once a week. Salary Range: $42,000 - $49,000/year RESPONSIBILITIES + Interact with NYC school personnel and client Field Project Managers in-person, over phone and via email + Level 1 or 2 experience with data cabling, networking, fiber, dealing with routers and switches + Understanding of wire and data management for network equipment. + Surveying sites, classrooms, Labs, offices, for equipment and proposing Access Point placement throughout the building to ensure 100% wireless network coverage + Surveying network closets, cabinets, racks, and Cisco Switches for switch port availability and recommend new equipment + Identifying and labeling of equipment + Documenting of structured data cabling and optical fiber in termination closets + Support network integration engineers on the implementation of larger-scale integrations + Deploy networking equipment including racking, stacking, and patching, cable management + Make moderately technical adjustments to network infrastructure + Work directly with Clients during deployments to meet or exceed client satisfaction + Provide documented summations of work assignments including client sign off, punch lists and resolutions, installation photos + Provide clean and concise reporting (written and verbal), ensure quality of work QUALIFICATIONS + Understanding of networking concepts, surveying and installation + Ability to perform pre-integration port tracing, patching of cables, cable management + Outstanding Excel Skills + Excellent customer service skills + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Skilled with organization, decision making and time management + Ability to work independently and as part of a team + Have high attention to detail + As the Program expands to its full capacity, this individual will have the opportunity to take on higher level technical responsibilities on initiatives that include full network refreshes, wireless implementations, and other emerging technologies!
