Description
Job Summary
The Technician works with the lead and other technicians installing various telecommunications network equipment in our customers’ work environment. They learn to perform basic equipment installation such as mounting equipment in cabinets or frames, installing fiber protection systems, running terminating and labeling fibers and DC power cabling.
Responsibilities
Work on site with lead technician, other technicians and contractors including the customer.
Learn:
+ Basic installation/removal of equipment or hardware.
+ To Install and secure Power, Fiber and Lan cabling according to Verizon IP 72202.
+ Basic installation of Auxiliary Framing, Bracing and Cable Rack.
+ To Assemble, Frames, Bays and Cabinets.
+ Hilti and 3M Fire Stopping.
+ Basic wiring and cabling (includes memorizing the color code).
+ Basic equipment designations and labeling.
+ Basic Electrical fundamentals and working in a safe work environment.
+ Proper equipment grounding.
+ To read and use job site administration (Includes MOP's, Specs. And Drawings).
+ Fiber Optic Cabling, including inspection and testing of various fiber types.
+ Qualifications:
Preferred Skills
+ DC Power experience.
+ AC Electrical experience.
+ Fiber optic experience is a plus.
+ Previous experience in a related field.
+ Troubleshooting skills.
+ Experience working away from home.
+ Education & Experience
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Basic Hand and power tool operation knowledge.
+ Basic Computer skills (outlook, excel, teams, word).
+ Basic knowledge of electricity ac/dc power.
+ Have a valid driver’s license.
+ Must have reliable transportation.
+ Regional travel required on a weekly basis.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The employee must be able and willing to travel locally to reach customer and network locations or local events and regularly work in outdoor weather conditions. Compliance with all Company safety procedures is a requirement.

The employee must regularly carry, move, push, pull, install, and/or remove tools and equipment weighing 20 to 50 pounds (and frequently 50 to 100 pounds).
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision (specifically the ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires), peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
The employee must occasionally be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, operate computer and other office equipment.
The Employee will frequently be required to work at heights less than 10 feet above the ground.
Must undergo a pre-employment screening process which includes a background check and drug screening.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a Full-Time Non-Exempt position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, evening or weekend work may be requested at any given time. An appropriate level of communication about expected hours of work between the employee and supervisor will be agreed to as part of the discussion process and will be more formal during the trial period. With on call duties as assigned relating to ANS Advanced Network Services user issues after hours’, weekends, and holidays.
