**Job Title: Technician** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking technician to join our team. This role involves general labor tasks in a heavy construction environment, including site work, digging, and lifting. The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with diesel and auto equipment. **Responsibilities** + Perform site work, including testing, inspection, and sampling. + Engage in heavy construction tasks such as digging and lifting. + Operate and maintain construction and demolition equipment. + Monitor conveyor belts and sort out metal and plastic debris from crushed stone. + Maintain and organize the shop and garage. + Assist Mechanics with machine maintenance. + Power wash and rinse the tires of outgoing trucks. + Help load and unload materials from trucks. + Uphold site safety regulations at all times. **Essential Skills** + Experience in site work and heavy construction. + Proficiency in digging and lifting heavy materials. + Ability to operate and maintain construction equipment. + Strong mechanical skills, particularly with diesel and auto equipment. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with equipment cleaning and maintenance. **Why Work Here?** - Union based opportunity after six months. - Great culture and extremely stable long-term job with a project duration of another 15 years. - Local to NJ, contributing positively to the community. - Opportunity for growth and advancement. **Work Environment** This position involves working at an 80-acre quarry in Prospect Park, NJ, which is primarily focused on the sorting and recycling of demolition debris. The work hours are from 7 am to 3 pm. The role requires running a crusher machine, operating multiple conveyor belts, loading and unloading materials, and directing other laborers. The quarry is expected to be active until 2055 and is part of a larger family business supported by an internal office staff. The work environment is hands-on, with a focus on safety and efficiency. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Prospect Park, New Jersey. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $24.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
