Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to assemble parts from subcomponents for motors, follow drawings, work instructions, and in-process inspection requirements. You will perform a wide range of tasks to assemble a stator winding and interpret part drawings for improvement discussions with technical support groups. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that all tasks meet established standards of quality, productivity, and attendance.
ResponsibilitiesAssemble parts from subcomponents for motors following drawings, work instructions, and in-process inspection requirements.Perform tasks such as operating equipment to make subcomponents (winder, press, cleat), cutting and winding wire, insulating, impregnation (chamber), buffing, painting, and testing parts.Interpret part drawings and collaborate with technical support groups (i.e., Process Engineering, Quality, Design Engineering) for improvement discussions.Participate with teams to solve department area problems.Position and fasten units to assemblies and subassemblies.Position and align parts using fixtures, jigs, and templates.Connect and install electrical wiring and harnesses.Measure dimensions and clearances of parts to determine tolerances using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and veneers.Test for mechanical reliability.Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.Essential SkillsUnderstanding of electrical theory and strong mechanical aptitude/skills.Proficient in the use of precision measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers.Significant mechanical knowledge and/or experience.Highly motivated self-performer with good organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong attention to detail, organized, and computer literate.Basic math skills; algebra is a plus.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.High degree of electro-mechanical skills and strong analytical abilities.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, complex assembly drawings, schematics, diagrams, and instructions.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of 2 years’ experience specifically in winding AC and DC motors, generators, or coils.Minimum of 8 years related mechanical assembly experience.High School Diploma or Equivalent/related training.Lathe, mill, and drill press experience desired.Knowledge of AS9100 procedures is a plus.Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time during duties.Excellent close vision (natural or corrected) and fine motor skills/manual dexterity.Good eye/hand coordination.Ability to wear necessary protective equipment.Flexibility to work overtime and travel when needed.Physical ability to walk, sit, climb, talk, see, hear, stand, use hands, reach, pull heavy cables, and lift up to 50 lbs.Authorized to work for any employer in the United States.Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing floor environment. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, as well as physical activities such as walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work overtime and travel when needed is essential. The candidate must be able to wear necessary protective equipment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $33.15
