Job Description
We are seeking a Technician to support the FAA's SAI Ground Vehicle program. The ideal candidate will have experience with assembling, configuring, and verifying hardware components, as well as managing inventory and assisting with packing and shipping.
ResponsibilitiesAssemble Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components into enclosures, utilizing hand tools and performing simple wiring tasks.Follow checklists and instructions to ensure accurate assembly.Use web interfaces to configure networking hardware, ensuring proper setup and functionality.Perform computer imaging using scripted processes to prepare systems for deployment.Verify that configured and assembled items work together seamlessly and are properly configured.Maintain an accurate inventory of components used in assemblies, ensuring all parts are accounted for.Assist with packing and shipping hardware to field locations, ensuring all items are securely packaged and labeled correctly.Essential SkillsExperience with assembling and configuring hardware components.Basic knowledge of networking hardware and web interfaces.Ability to use hand tools and perform simple wiring tasks.Eligible for a US Secret Clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's in Engineering (or graduating within the next 12 months).Skills in electrical, rack and stack, cabling, testing, and technician duties.Knowledge of networking, Linux, MATLAB, test plans, and validation.Work Environment
The position is based in Herndon, VA and will likely require a 4-5 day on-site presence, with potential flexibility depending on tasking as the role grows. The work schedule is very flexible and travel is typically minimal, although occasional travel to the airport during install phases may be required. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
