Description
Key Responsibilities:
+ Install, configure, and maintain low-voltage systems such as security cameras, access control systems, fire alarms, and networking equipment.
+ Perform system testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
+ Pull, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial, and fiber optic cables.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
+ Work with team members to design and implement customized low-voltage solutions for client needs.
+ Provide training and support to clients on system usage and functionality.
+ Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
+ Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicle inventory in good working condition.
+ Complete detailed service reports, documentation, and work orders.
+ Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and team members to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in low-voltage systems preferred.
+ 1-3 years of experience in low-voltage installations or a related field.
+ Knowledge of low-voltage systems, including security systems, networking, and A/V equipment.
+ Familiarity with cabling standards, installation practices, and testing tools.
+ Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent customer service and communication skills.
+ Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights or in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Certifications such as BICSI Installer, CompTIA Network+, or ETA certifications.
+ Experience with specific systems or brands (e.g., Honeywell, Axis, Crestron).
+ Knowledge of local and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
