Summary You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Guns Division (G3), Medium Caliber Guns Branch (G33) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV located at Picatinny, NJ. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $161,448). The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. Responsibilities You will provide In-Service support and representation of the Medium Caliber Guns Branch during the installation, repair, and modernization of NAVSEA Medium Caliber Guns. You will be responsible for the coordination of availability and efforts with the project lead, team lead, engineers, and technicians. You will contribute to the In-Service Engineering team with expert knowledge and skills required to perform installation, repair, and modernization of the MK 11 Saluting Battery 40mm, MK 110 57mm, and/or MK 75 76mm guns. You will oversee the Naval Medium Caliber gun pre-fire checks, live fire exercises, post fire and periodic weapon maintenance, and weapon inventory accountability actions. You will provide advice to managers, supervisors, peers, and sponsors on specific technical aspects of Naval Medium Caliber gun systems or concept development, and must be comfortable and effective in communicating. You will report directly to the Branch Manager to keep the upward flow of communication clear and consistent as well as relaying messages from organizational leadership to Fleet Support. You will oversee and coordinate efforts for a team of highly competent engineering technicians to provide direct support to the fleet in order to ensure system readiness. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent grade level) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing, developing, and utilizing engineering methods and procedures to assess mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and provide technical direction on the installation, repair, and modernization of Naval Medium Caliber Guns to ensure operational readiness.
