Basic Job Functions:
Perform preventive maintenance activities on all manufacturing production tools in a safe manner. Promptly escalate any abnormal findings/concerns during PM activities to the appropriate person and participate in the repair/resolution of the issue. Lead in training/upskilling of technicians to create a culture of safety and excellence around PM activities. Ensure assigned PM – Work instruction from CMMS system is carried out timely and comply with PM requirements. Assist in the installation and qualification of manufacturing equipment. Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing process and equipment issues. Lead & participate in continuous improvements project that contributes tool performance goals. Identify & propose spare part cost saving projects derived from repair rebuild program, PM optimization & etc.Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must meet ONE of the following criteria to qualify: No post-high school degree: Five or more years mechanical, electrical or process technician experience as a primary job function, or two or more years’ experience as FS EMT II. Journeyman or other trade certification strongly preferred in lieu of post-HS degree. Associates (2-year) degree in a technical discipline: Three or more years mechanical, electrical or process technician experience or 2-year experience as FS EMT II. Bachelors (4-year) degree in an engineering/technical discipline: One year mechanical, electrical or process technician experience or 1 year experience as FS EMT II. Maintenance experience in thin film process or Vacuum Technology is preferred. Proven Leadership Skills and ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to interpret technical manuals details during trouble shooting/repairing of manufacturing equipment. Experience in CMMS system with trend analysis capability. Act as a trainer to train, coach and supervise Engineering Maintenance Technician I & II in related job field. Ability to generate OPL/BKM & share across the sites/plant.Required Skills/Competencies:
Safety first mindset. Extensive verifiable electrical/electronic and mechanical knowledge. Additional knowledge in Vacuum system & robotic will be an advantage. Extensive Verifiable hands-on troubleshooting/repair skills. High level of competency in maintaining and repairing a wide variety of manufacturing/process toolsets such as those found in a high-volume PV manufacturing facility. Good written and oral communications skills in English. Able to deal with administrative as well as technical tasks. Proficient use of common Windows computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Able to identify recurring issues and develop/communicate improvement recommendations.Essential Responsibilities:
Follows standard ISO and other company safe practices on all work assignments. Assists on-site service and repair of equipment. Assists Equipment Engineer on maintenance procedures creation such as WI, documentation and etc. Identifies and recommends opportunities for cost savings. Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed. ·Assists in evaluating and certifying junior technicians’ training & promotion. Executes planned equipment experiments, collect and analyze data and report experimental results. Lead transition of new equipment through start-up, qualification, and implementation. Develops and update internal documentation including drawings, standard operating procedures, and equipment specifications. Interfaces with internal associates and supplier representatives, as required, to complete assigned projects. Develops a complete understanding of area processes, equipment, and support systems. Maintains effective communication with other members of the manufacturing team. Adheres to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards. Will complete First Solar EMT3 training programs. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards).
