WSPA-TV in Spartanburg, SC has an opening for a Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician is a member of the Technical Services Department and responsible for providing engineering and general maintenance support for the station under the direction of Technical Services Management.

Assist in maintaining all station broadcast equipment within the facilityInstall, support and maintain IT equipment and infrastructureReview and maintain system design documents and drawingsPerform routine maintenance on all broadcast equipmentProblem solving/troubleshooting to reduce equipment downtime and maximize system efficiencyDevelop audio/video and IT solutions that meet end users’ requirementsResponsible for maintaining multiple servers/routers/hubs/switches/PC’sGenerates analysis from concept to completion on projects assignedInterface with various users, technical services, technicians and other Engineers to implement, install and debug these systemsResponsible for successful completion of new initiatives and operational projectsAbility to rapidly diagnose problems during Live broadcasts, resolve or provide alternative solutions to maintain production continuity and meet On-Air deadlines

 Requirements & Skills:

2+ years of experience working as a Maintenance Technician at a commercial television station or in a position of troubleshooting a wide variety of specialized electronic equipmentExperience with broadcast audio, video and control systems, video servers, graphics & IT systemsKnowledge of master control and operationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Windows and Mac operating systemsDetail oriented with ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate with non-technical staff to resolve technical matters
