Duties and Responsibilities + Responsible for technical and non-technical work involved in the manufacture, installation, and refurbishing of traffic signals, street lighting facilities, and bridge electrical systems. + Ensures that all construction and maintenance activities are in accordance to acceptable federal, state, and local standards. + Duties are performed under the general direction of the Supervisor Tech Support who evaluates performance through routine meetings and occasional on-site inspections. Education, Experience, Licensing Minimum Requirements: + Requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED and two years of documented journeyman-level work in the maintenance of traffic signals & streetlights or the electrical trade, or related experience. + This is a safety-sensitive position, which is subject to Drug & Alcohol Workplace testing as provided in DOT regulation 49CFR-parts 40 and /or 382. Licenses/Certification + Possession of s a valid Class B Commercial Learners Permit and an acceptable driving record at the time of offer with the ability to obtain a valid Class B CDL with Air Brakes endorsement within six (6) months of hire date is required. + Possession of a Level II IMSA Certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year of the hire date is required or employment will end. Supplemental Information + Preferred qualifications include familiarity with computers and programs such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and other job-related software. + Knowledge of video detection, ITS, ATMS, fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting related to traffic signals is also preferred. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM or Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This role also requires on-call availability, which may include nights and weekends.
