OverviewThe Technician III works individually performing design and laboratory work requiring application of design methods and advanced laboratory techniques and methods.Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares design layouts, detailed drawings, bills of material, and engineering change documentation of advanced complexity.Performs calculations of advanced complexity using standard formulas.Investigates product and documentation problems and product complaints of an advanced complexity.Performs material dispositions of advanced complexity.Performs laboratory work involving systems and experiments of advanced complexity.Performs shop work of advanced complexity, such as fabrication, repair and assembly of prototypes.Exercises significant judgment to develop design and laboratory solutions to problems and projects of a complex nature.Completes documentation involving maintaining logs and data bases, change requests/orders, drawings, specifications, test procedures, test reports, failure investigation reports, etc. of advanced complexity.Coordinates with other organizations affected.Leads work of support staff or acts as a designated leader for technical projects.Must not pose a risk to self or others.Maintains acceptable dependability level.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis. Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively. Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift. Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration and /or dust, and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.
