Technician (50% Grade AD10) Urology Division
The main purpose of this position is that the incumbent is responsible for performing, analyzing, and reporting on the Urodynamic Studies to the Head of Division of Urology. To teach Urodynamic Principles to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students. To Co-ordinate specialist Urology Clinics Hope School
This is a demanding and fast-moving position that requires someone who is a proactive and positive thinker, and able to exercise good judgment and initiative.
Brief Description
MAIN DUTIES
1. Conduct Urodynamic Studies
Facilitation of Urodynamic bookings
Organization of testing environment
Capturing the patient s urological history
Determine study parameters
Report Analyzed data to the Head of Division
2. Teach the Principles and Practice of Urodynamic Studies
Conduct weekly undergraduate tutorials
Supervision of the practical application of Urodynamic Studies
Conduct postgraduate tutorials for Urology and Gynecology as required
Arrange and conduct Urodynamic Studies workshops prior to post-graduate examinations
3. Co -Co-ordination of Specialist Urology Clinics
Arrange and coordinate a monthly visit by urology registrar to Hope School
Arrange appointments, attend and present urodynamic study findings in booked patients at combined Urology/Gynecology Clinic monthly
4. Other duties
Liaison between Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (Ward 386) and the Urodynamic Studies Laboratory
Requirements
General Nursing Science Diploma
Basic Urodynamic Studies Certificate
Three Years Work-Related Experience
Good communication & training skills.
Ability to organise own workload under the direction of academic staff.
Ability to work as an individual and part of a team.
Operation of specialised equipment, requiring specialist training.
Computer literacy
