Job Description

The d Compliance Test Team is looking for an entry to mid-level engineering technician for the Superior Township locations to help support certification and compliance activities.

ResponsibilitiesConduct vehicle inspections.Perform routine vehicle maintenance.Remove and replace emission components.Carry out minor vehicle repairs.Test vehicle instrumentation.Drive vehicles (Chassis Dyno & Coast-down).Perform minor fabrication work.Maintain vehicle tracking database.Maintain fixed asset tracking database.Support compliance projects including vehicle inspections, preparation for emission lab testing, and minor fabrication work.Support certification projects including vehicle instrumentation and preparation for emission lab testing.Handle MICS tasks such as cleaning and washing vehicles, fueling vehicles, and maintaining tracking databases.Essential SkillsBasic automotive experience.1-year customer service experience.Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Word.Basic knowledge of office equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with hybrid and electric vehicles.Automotive certifications (State of MI or ASE).Experience with automotive dealerships.Work Environment

The role involves working in both laboratory and shop environments with exposure to fuel, compressed air/gas, emissions, and exhaust fumes. There are pinching, tripping, electrical, and chemical hazards. The position requires bending, stooping, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Safety glasses are mandatory.
