Your Opportunity as the Technologist, Process Engineer-Frozen Handheld & Spreads Research & Development (Uncrustables Team)

In this role you will be responsible for leading and supporting the development and implementation of new and improved processes to support cost savings initiatives and both process and product innovation.  You will execute projects designed to result in new or improved processes with moderate guidance and utilize sound engineering principles to drive innovation and solve technical problems.

Location: Corporate Offices in Orrville, Ohio

In this role you will:

Identify, support and/or lead the development, scale-up, and implementation of both new process technologies and improvements to existing processesDevelop test plans and reports to support projects in both the process research lab (PRL) and manufacturing plantLead and support testing in PRLDevelop and execute project learning plansDefine manufacturing specifications and support associated process and equipment design to meet the success criteria. Develop equipment commissioning and operational documentation.Learn and apply statistical techniques to analyze process dataSupport product innovation projectsSupport manufacturing plants during the commissioning and qualification of process for new product/process launches.Work with external suppliers, operations, product development resources and other business functions to achieve goals.Assess, with guidance, legal and environmental aspects, and patent opportunities, for new technologies/processes.Become fluent and participate in JMS Key Element and Quality programs to support R&D.Embrace and actively participate in company’s Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (ID&E) initiatives.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor of Science Degree or higher (required); Chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or food engineering preferred. At least one year of engineering experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is preferred (full-time or co-op/internship). Comfortable in leading team meetings, creating and managing timelines, and developing, documenting and executing test plansBe a self-starter and able to work autonomously to plan, implement, monitor, and deliver objectivesAbility to collaborate and work across multi-functional boundaries in a dynamic project environment Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work a hybrid working schedule based on Company Core Weeks and business needs – with in office presence at or above 50% regularly; start times based on work needs may be before 8 AM (~25% of workdays).Approximately 20% travel; normally a minimum of 3-5 days consecutive per trip.

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

Experience using statistical softwareKnowledge in experimental designs and statistical computing methods such as SPC and process capability analysis.
