Overview Hiring for Multiple Technologist Positions CT Technologist Performs computerized tomographic procedures for diagnosis and treatment requiring independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Satisfactory completion of Radiologic Technology training in a CAHEA approved school and meets requirements for the registry by the ARRT. Prefer at least one years of experience as a radiologic technologist. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must be registered by the ARRT. Must hold a current license from the State of Florida as a certified Radiologic Technologist. Must pass the ARRT advanced examination for CT certification within one year of employment as a CT Technologist. Must have current BLS certification. Cardiovascular Technologist Provides appropriate patient care in Cardiac Cath Lab. Circulates, scrubs, and records diagnostic and interventional procedures for adult interventional, heart failure, and pulmonary services. Operates appropriate medical equipment and software and interacts professionally with customers and staff. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: AS Degree from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program. or AS Degree from accredited Radiologic Technologist Program. Licensure/Certification/Registration: If incumbent/candidate has an AS Degree from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program, must be credentialed by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). If incumbent/candidate has an AS Degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program, must possess the Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI), Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) or Radiography (R) Registration Category issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The CI registration is the preferred registration. Cytotechnologist Upon supervision, microscopically evaluates all types of cytology specimens submitted to the cytopathology laboratory. Screens cytologic material and recognizes abnormalities identified and renders an interpretation diagnoses using the laboratory information system; appropriate cases are sent to the Cytopathologists for final interpretation consideration. Assists Rapid-On Site Evaluations in multiple services including Bronchoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and surgical clinics. Performs appropriate record-keeping procedures and fulfills some of the duties of the cytopathology supervisor during that supervisor's absence. On rare occasions, prepares cytologic specimens for evaluation using established procedures. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Must have completed Cytotechnology training in a CAHEA approved program and/or qualify as outlined in Rules of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation as required for licensure One year laboratory experience as a Cytotechnologist, preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must be eligible for or possess either a temporary or current license as a State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist in Cytology. Registration by an accredited National Certification Agency is preferred. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose. Medical Technologist Performs simple and complex analysis on tissue, blood and body fluids using laboratory instrumentation, manual methods and procedures. Approves the performance of tests by technicians. Assumes accountability for patient tests by providing a high standard of quality using independent judgment in the performance of standard operating procedures and complex instrumentation in varying sample environments. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent that meets qualifications for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist from the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel. Must meet state licensure requirements as stated in FL Statue 64B3-5.003 Technologist. One (1) year experience in NAACLS approved program OR one (1) year working as a Technologist in a hospital laboratory. New hires effective October 1, 2024 must have a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, or related field. Academic equivalent OR academic and work experience combination equivalency acceptable. Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to October 1, 2024 who holds a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent which meets state licensure requirements as stated in FL Statute 64B3-5.003 Technologist will be grandfathered in. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must possess either a temporary or current license as a State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the specialty(s) required for the job. Radiologic Technologist Performs a variety of radiographic procedures for diagnosis and treatment requiring independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Satisfactory completion of a Radiologic Technology program which has been accredited by an agency accepted by the ARRT. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must be registered by the ARRT or registry eligible and obtain registry within six months of employment. Must hold a current license from the State of Florida as a Certified Radiologic Technologist. Ultrasound Technologist Performs Ultrasound studies for diagnosis and treatment requiring independent judgment and initiative. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Successful completion of an Ultrasound training program. Extensive prior work experience as an ultrasound Technologist may be substituted for formal education. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Requires ultrasound registry by ARDMS or ARRT (Ultrasound) and Vascular registry by ARDMS, ARRT or CCI. One registry is required at time of hire (Abdomen, OBGYN, or Vascular preferred). Second registration must be completed within 6 months of hire. Holds current BLS certification. Surgical Technologist Assist as a member of the surgical team who works with the surgeon, registered nurse, and anesthesiologist delivering direct patient care before, during and after surgery. The technologist functions as an instrument assistant and may also function as a circulating assistant under supervision of a registered nurse. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate of a recognized surgical technologist program.
