Following prescribed procedures, performing any of the tests within any of the laboratory specialties, calculating the results of the tests performed as necessaryOperating, calibrating, conducting performance checks, and maintaining any laboratory analyzers or equipmentRecognizing and correcting basic analyzer malfunctions; notifying management personnel when appropriatePreparing reagents or media from a prescribed procedureEvaluating media, reagents, and calibrators according to established criteriaConducting established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluating results of quality control and implements corrective action when indicatedDetermining performance specifications for new methodsPerforms instrument maintenance, QC reagents and kitsPerforms routine testing including assay validationsConfirming and verifying results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and analyzersMonitoring quality assurance/continuous improvement programsMonitoring safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulationsUtilizes laboratory information systems or other methods to accurately and effectively report patient resultsReview and follow Standard Operating ProceduresReporting test results conforming to established proceduresSupports Eurofins DPT’s business philosophy, leadership values, and ethicsIn order to meet Eurofins DPT’s quality policy and objectives, all employees are expected to meet basic expectations of Eurofins DPT’s quality management system including, but not limited to good workmanship, adherence to standard operational procedures, training, good documentation practices, and accurate recordkeeping.QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institutionIf required by the State in which the laboratory is located, the appropriate State License to perform clinical laboratory testingWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1+ years of related experience preferredKnowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technologyKnowledge of the principles of chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as related to medical technologyKnowledge of recent developments in the field of medical technologyAbility to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures and to make accurate observations and records of tests resultsSkill in the use of medical laboratory equipmentStrong communication skills & analytical thinkingPerforms instrument maintenancePerforms freezer, refrigerator, and incubator maintenancePerforms QC reagents needed for patient testingCompetent to perform routine testing for many tests performed within the departmentPOTENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
