Data Connects Us. **About the Role:** As a technical expert on the AR team you’ll get to work with executives, product management, product marketing, and other technical leads to help shape the Data Streaming Platforms category, the technology markets within it, and Confluent’s leadership across these. There are only so many times in your professional career that you can legitimately say you helped create a category. This is one of them. We’re looking for someone who can understand the business needs of our organization and stakeholders, and can interpret the technical intricacies of data streaming. You’ll need to understand our technology, strategy and messaging, and work cross-functionally to translate these approaches and ideas into external-facing content. A genuine interest in data streaming technologies is a must for this role. You’re likely working as a sales engineer, technology strategist, developer advocate or PMM, applying your understanding of software, people, organizations and products to solve the big problems faced in software delivery. Maybe you have taken a different path and are coming from an operator or developer role at a company where you used streaming, data integration, or related technologies. You believe in the mission - that data streaming is critical for success - and you want to move into a role where you can make a tangible impact by shaping how market influencers think about the category and the company. **What You Will Do:** + Know the Business: Work with cross-functional teams to help build briefing updates and event experience materials, develop technical presentations and demos that influence analyst thinking, and manage evaluative report content including RFIs, responses and presentations for ongoing inbound requests. + Collaborate with Market Influencers: Lead the analyst briefing program strategy across firms like Gartner, Forrester and IDC, build strong relationships with APAC based analysts, and engage with 1:many analysts to influence their thinking and learn what our buyers think of our category and Confluent. + Build Credibility: Establish Confluent’s leadership in the Data Streaming Platforms category by managing the Analyst Newsletter and the customer reference program, helping land demand and adoption proof points with analysts. + Funnel Insights: Review research reports across key technology markets and firms, sharing market, company, and competitive intelligence and recommendations with cross-team stakeholders. + Be a content creator and collaborator, combining your technical skills and passion for Confluent by creating, customizing, and proactively sharing content, resources, and product assets with key technology analysts + Serve as a Confluent company spokesperson during analyst engagements by communicating complex technological ideas and capabilities to this community + Understand the analyst landscape and become an advocate for this community by helping position Confluent as it relates to their research focus areas + Work with executives to develop AR strategy in alignment with business’s goals. + Foster and strengthen relationships with core analysts. + Work with multiple teams spanning Product Marketing, Product Management, Finance, etc. to ensure analysts have a positive outlook of our category and Confluent’s leadership role within it + Track and analyze research that spans our markets, our competitive set, and us, building insightful reports that inform internal team’s plans, including translating Confluent-specific analyst feedback into + actionable insights for our product and marketing teams + Collaborate with teams looking to commission analyst research, counseling them on the best match, and serving as the content and relationship liaison **What You Will Bring:** + Career experience: 4-6 years of evangelizing technical concepts, with data streaming, stream processing, data governance and AI experience as a plus. + Technical experience: Strong data streaming technical acumen is a must. + Strategy: Ability to convey deeply technical concepts as they map to various technology markets. + Ability: Engage to build trusted relationships with analysts, senior executives and customers, speaking confidently as a technology advocate who can cover both technical and conceptual content. + Content: Create and convert technical materials that reframe concepts in interesting ways, with an excellent writing style that clearly explains complex ideas. + Autonomy: Deliver high-quality materials while managing expectations and deadlines. + Management and project execution: Craft, manage and implement complex projects, handling diverse personalities, executing efficiently, and maximizing the value from resources you have at your disposal. **Come As You Are** At Confluent, equality is a core tenet of our culture.
