SUMMARY We are seeking a Technology Center Group Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our machine shop, as part of our growth strategy to acquire more business. This position is responsible for managing project priorities and assisting employees in finding the most efficient manufacturing and repair methods. The Leader will ensure the timely fabrication of various tooling required for the mass production of circuit boards, providing regular updates to the Tooling Department Supervisor and ensuring customer deadlines are met. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Receive guidance from the Tooling Supervisor and effectively lead the machine shop personnel in accordance with the production schedule. + Manage the material control program, including tracking on-hand quantities, preparing requisitions, receiving materials, and ensuring proper storage. + Maintain and update the shop production report. + Operate manual or CNC milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other standard shop equipment to fabricate and assemble tooling. + Interpret shop travelers, blueprints, and shop detail drawings. + Use precision measuring instruments to verify the accuracy of work. + Fabricate, assemble, de-burr, clean, and label tooling projects as needed. + Maintain machine shop equipment and cleanliness to ensure uninterrupted operation. + Ensure timely delivery of properly labeled tooling projects to customers. + Enter data into the tooling department job processing system. + Validate employees' time in Kronos. + Provide input to the Tooling Department Supervisor, as requested, for performance evaluations of shop personnel. + Complete special projects assigned by the Tooling Department Supervisor. + Adhere to all safety rules and enforce compliance among workers. + Comply with all procedures within the company security policy. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS + Associate degree from a Technical School. + Strong trigonometric knowledge. + Proficiency in operating equipment such as milling machines, surface grinders, lathes, and EDM. + Knowledge of steel fitting during assembly (fitting process). + Minimum of five (5) years of experience in constructing, maintaining, and repairing tools and molds. + Forklift License. + Basic computer knowledge, preferably including the Creo Parametric design program. + Familiarity with CMM Measuring Equipment, preferably. + Formal training in GMP, Safety, and Quality. + Mold Shrinkage Calculations. + Mold Fitting Calculations. + Understanding of required ventilation in molds based on resin type. + Knowledge of Surface Finishing required in molds, based on SPI finish number and appropriate tools. + Ability to read drawings of molds and plastic parts. + Proficiency in laser welding and TIG welding. + Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. + Excellent interpersonal skills. + Bilingual (English and Spanish), preferably. + Effective document processing. + Good communication skills. + Knowledge of GD&T, preferably.
