Position Title: Technology Consultant

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week

Summary of Duties: Conduct extensive Power System Planning studies on the Bulk Electrical Transmission Grids in USA for various Transmission owners, Power Systems Operators and Power Producers, to assess a reliable, robust, efficient, and secure transmission network. Perform complex transmission, distribution and industrial system studies within time and budget constraints. Provide direct customer support and keep ongoing line of communication with customer for scope delivery. Prepare study reports and other technical documentations as individual contribution. Present study reports to clients in a manner to effectively communicate the findings. Provide support to project teams. Ensure compliance in completion and delivery of reports. Remote work permitted.

Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electric Power Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as a Project Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or an acceptable alternate occupation. Employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electric Power Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or as a Project Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or an acceptable alternate occupation. The position requires experience with the following: transmission system planning or operations; experience analyzing power flow, transient stability and electromagnetic transients; Knowledge on specific grid code standards and planning procedures especially standards related to integration of renewable generations like wind and photovoltaics (PV), battery energy systems; hands-on experience with commercial software such as PSS®E, TSAT, PSLF, PSCAD, TARA, Matlab; experience with programming languages such as Python and Fortran. Skills can be gained concurrently or as part of a graduate degree program.
