Technology Project Designer Location: San Bernardino, California (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote) About the Position: A leading regional engineering firm based on the West Coast offering an expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Commissioning, Fire Protection, Dry Utility Coordination, and Technology Systems Engineering i s seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technology Project Designer to join our growing team in San Bernardino, California. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your design expertise to challenging projects under the guidance of top engineers in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction industry. Key Responsibilities: + Research technical product information. + Conduct and/or delegate job site inspections to assess existing conditions and contractor progress. + Design, coordinate, and engineer systems across various disciplines (telecom, security, network, audiovisual, acoustics, Wi-Fi, etc.). + Prepare drawings, specifications, contract documents, and design calculations using Revit and AutoCAD. + Perform job site inspections to evaluate existing conditions and contractor progress. + Provide team support, develop tools, improve processes, and share technical knowledge. + Attend and contribute to internal team, discipline, and project meetings. + Work on continuous improvement projects for the firm and design practice. + Perform other work-related duties as assigned. Requirements: + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autodesk (AutoCAD and Revit), and Bluebeam Studio. + BS in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + 3-5 years of experience as a Technology Designer in Technology Engineering for telecommunications systems. + Excellent communication skills. + Proficient knowledge of California Building Codes and National Electrical Codes. + Comfortable working in an office environment and performing job site inspections. + Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. + Excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines. Nice-to-Haves: + 5+ years of experience as a Technology Project Designer in Technology Engineering. + CTS (AVIXA), APP (ASIS), or other relevant certifications. + Construction Documents Technologist (CSI) certification. + Experience with electronic security and/or audiovisual systems. + Experience with other technology systems (e.g., nurse call, Wi-Fi, cellular data, DAS). + Ability to mentor and be a resource for junior team members and other design teams within Design West Engineering. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $110000.00/yr. Health insurance for yourself.
