Technology Industry Practice Leader, Global Enterprise Client Group & North America
Aon is seeking a Technology Industry Leader to serve as the Global Enterprise Client Group Industry Leader and North America Region Industry Leader. This role will double-hat to lead the Technology Industry across the Enterprise Client Group globally and in North America along with supporting individuals serving these clients. The Technology Industry Leader will report direct into the Global Enterprise Client Group Industry Leader and helix into the North America Industry Leader. The role ideally will be in the United States on the West Coast or New York City. What the day will look like The Technology Industry Leader will be responsible for taking industry insights, content and capability to Enterprise clients globally, and North America clients regionally, and providing responses from clients on top-of-mind issues and unmet needs. This role will be responsible for the growth of revenue across the portfolio of Enterprise Clients and North America as well as retention and accelerated growth of their own clients within the industry. The role will support, and coach Enterprise Client Leaders (ECLs), Account Executives (AEs) and Producers to grow relationships with Aon’s largest global clients within Technology industry. This role will collaborate with the Industry work done in region and solution line in relation to industry specialty to ensure content, insights and innovation are leveraged to bring our best insights, content, and capability to our Enterprise Client Group. The industry leader will have responsibility and accountable to implement the Industry playbook and work in collaboration with other Industry leaders, Regional Leadership as well as Sales Enablement and Marketing. The Technology Industry Leader will require distinct capabilities in following areas: Insights Understanding of industry specific issues that are top of mind for senior executives. Ability to connect these issues to Aon Solutions and offerings to customize products and services. Support industry specific content creation working closely with the Technology Industry content and capability team and solution lines. Identifying insights to present at relevant client events both hosted by Aon and where Aon is sponsor/participant. Relationships Using own network of broad set of senior relationships and bring relevance to open doors with new buying centers at ECG and North America clients. Accountable for building deeper relationships working closely with ECLs, AEs and Producers, to expand our relevance and buying centers across Technology Industry clients. Mentor ECLs, AEs and Producers in connecting relationship dots at clients and actively helping them build trusted client relationships, including using all the relationships of our AEC, ELT members and relationship mapping. Maintains own book of Technology Industry clients (2-3). Collaboration Identifying 3-4 ideas that are bringing value for Aon and systematically taking them to clients, continuous cycle. Creates a Technology community for the ECL’s, AEs and Producers working on Technology clients helping to building their skill sets and knowledge around relationship, relevance, and scaling/replicating revenue. Input and continuous support for the delivery of solution sprints that are bringing value for Aon across Technology ECG and NA Clients Participate on Global/Regional councils to discuss external events and support solutions/content working with ECLs, AEs and Producers to drive them to market. Partner with the Technology Solution Line leaders to develop solutions ensuring the voice of the client is fed into thought leadership or product innovation. Collates ECL, AE and Producer client feedback on trends and unmet industry needs. Operational Excellence Assessing current landscape within the Industry and sub-industries (white space, client plans, competitive view) Has a role in developing which clients in Technology should be part of ECG and has a voice with the Regions on client assignment based on ECG client profile and client assignment guidelines for ECG overall. Evaluating Aon’s relevance (content and capability), events and white papers ECLs, AEs and Producers have clarity on bringing content to clients and have access to the go-to-market strategy in the Industry and aligning the strategy with the Regions. Knowledge of pipeline for the Industry, including offensive, defensive, and articulating value. Able to replicate and scale wins and use the jeopardy process to handle revenue at risk. Working with talent development team to ensure we have sustainable tools to educate ECLS, AEs and Producers how to bring industry specialty relevance to clients. Partners with the direct manager of ECLs, AEs and Producers to provide performance feedback throughout the year and during the annual performance review cycle. Industry ECL’s will remain in the region and sub-region ECG teams but will helix into the Technology Industry Leader role if they are fully aligned to this industry. Own and drive growth sprints within Technology working with our Chief Commercial Officer for ECG Accountable for the Quarterly Business Review for Global Technology with the CEO of ECG, CFO and CCO Core Skills Displaying Aon United behaviors and drive value through our current operating model Consulting skills: Identify client needs and clearly articulates the problem to be solved; recognizes challenges and barriers to solving them and assembles internal resources to achieve the desired client outcome. Financial competence: Builds proven understanding of the client’s Technology Industry financials and strategy and is adept in discussing this with the client and internal teams. Effective communication: Listens and communicates with a client-centric, strategic focus and adapts to communication style of the client; clearly articulates client needs and action items internally; builds consensus within Aon and client organization. Team management: Strong influencing skills; ensures progress for all client projects and creates alignment of internal teams on related workstreams. Well versed in RFP finalist Prep, Articulating Value and Client Discovery Facilitation and actively participates and facilitates sessions leading to better business outcomes. Management Information: Understands and uses management information to determine whitespace opportunities for growth across the industry. At least 10 years of industry-specific experience The Technology Industry Leader will lead with a player/coach model – leading by example by serving and growing their own clients in the industry space of some of the largest ECG and North America clients and enabling industry-aligned ECLs, AEs and Producers to incrementally grow revenue. Pay Transparency Laws: The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $300,000 to $400,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in Aon’s annual incentive plans in addition to base salary. The amount of any incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
