Position
The Technology Mechanic is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for spearheading new technology initiatives and showcasing our cutting-edge solutions to customers at MDLC.

As a Technology Mechanic you will provide first-line support, coordinates services, resolve problems, and make recommendations on selected products and services. You will be  responsible for equipping the Malaga Demonstration and Learning Center (MDLC) fleet with the latest Caterpillar technologies, ensuring technologies are updated and maintained in perfect working condition for events and training programs. Additionally, you will handle customer service inquiries, analyze technical data, and monitor the health status of key products to determine necessary actions.

What you will do:

Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Continuously monitor and analyze technology trends and advancements at Caterpillar to keep our technology offerings at the forefront of the market.Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineering, product development, and industry teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of technology solutions.Lead Technology Initiatives: Drive the development and implementation of new technology projects at MDLC, ensuring alignment with the enterprise's strategic goals.Equip the MDLC Fleet: Ensure the MDLC fleet is equipped with the latest Caterpillar technologies, maintaining them in perfect condition for events and training programs.Assembly and Disassembly of Equipment: Perform complex assembly and disassembly of construction equipment, following engineering drawings, schematics, service manuals, and work orders.Diagnostic Analysis: Identify necessary repairs or improvements to major equipment systems, including but not limited to engine, transmission, final drive, hydraulics, electrical, On / Off Board Technologies. Incumbent is required to use the Caterpillar Electronic Technician software to diagnose machine problems, calibrate machine systems flash-software and must have knowledge of communication via ethernet, to configure the different systems/applications installed in the fleet. Use of Total Station to calibrate grade control system 3D.  Knowledge of using SIS (Service Information System) will be an asset.Complex Repairs: Conduct advanced repairs on all types of construction equipment, including the installation of on and off-board technologies, software updates and calibration of each of the technologies installed on the MDLC fleet: Cat, PL 161, Cat Assist, Cat Command + Cat Command station, Cat Compact, Cat Detect, Cat Grade 3D, 2D, Payload, Cat Inspect, Laser catcher system, Vision Link, etc. (CAT CONNECT The Incumbent should have knowledge of electromechanics with experience or engineering to become certified as Senior Authorized Person for Electrification.Business Case Preparation: Prepare and present business cases for technology investments, managing project teams to implement the technology.General and Technical Skills: Maintain skills in technical writing, preventive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and basic heavy equipment operation.Digitalization Processes: Implement and maintain workshop digitalization processes to enhance operational efficiency and data management.

Requirements

Engineering Degree preferred with mechanical experience or extensive experience as mechanic on Construction / Mining equipmentExperience on latest fleet technologyLanguage Skills: fluent in English and Spanish
