Technology Specialist JobID: 1098 + Position Type: Technology/ Computer Technician + Date Posted: 1/28/2025 +    Technology SpecialistTo serve in the Technology Department to diagnose and repair technology problems within area of expertise and assignment. This position requires continuous use of independent judgement.The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the technology department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: + Diagnose and resolve problems encountered by computer, audiovisual and technology equipment users within the District. + Deliver and set up technology including branding, tagging of technology equipment obtained by the district. + Install cabling, peripheral equipment and/or software as needed. + Perform preventative maintenance on technology and telecommunication equipment as appropriate. + Prepare, submit and maintain appropriate installation and service documents as determined by the District. + Provide information and support to the technology staff and/or director of technology in identifying areas of customer need to insure prompt and courteous service to district users. + Trains user personnel and provides instruction when needed; develops user manuals; provides technical direction to other technology staff. + Maintains proficiency in Spencer Schools hardware, software, office automation, and networking capabilities; insures that the latest technology is continually reviewed for use. + Attend district meetings, training sessions, webinars, and other activities as required. + Perform prompt, courteous service to all district technology users. + Attend work on a prompt and regular basis. + Maintain confidentiality. + Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees. + Assist with other duties as may be assigned. HIRING SPECIFICATIONS: + High School Diploma, HiSET or GED + Two years of relevant training and/or experience in the area of expertise for the assignment + Standard industry certification for area of assignment + Valid driver’s license + Ability to assume responsibilities of this position + Working knowledge and skill in operating a computer + Effective communication skills
