Telecom Infrastructure Technician
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **POSITION PURPOSE** Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of a telecommunications/network infrastructure. Telephony responsibilities include cabling; cross connecting cables; moves, adds and changes involving desktop and wireless telephones; and troubleshooting telephone issues. Network responsibilities include cabling; cross connecting cables; port assignments on network switches; implementation and maintenance of uninterruptible power systems, and troubleshooting of network issues. Works with and takes direction from more senior infrastructure colleagues. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices and decisions. + Responsible for network / telephony infrastructure operations, maintenance, moves, adds and changes. + Responds to applicable HEAT issues. Escalates issues as necessary. + Operates all necessary mechanical and electronic test equipment and tools to troubleshoot or implement either network infrastructure or telephony infrastructure. + Maintains inventory of equipment to meet immediate and future needs. Ensures availability of equipment supply, by providing management with supply requests to maintain inventory. + Demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules, works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and departmental safety programs. + Maintains positive working relationships with customers, management and peers in keeping with a service-oriented organization. + Other duties as needed and assigned by the manager. + Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** + Associate’s degree or technical certification preferred and a minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience with communications infrastructure (network / telephony) equipment and procedures or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Cisco knowledge and experience required + Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with people of differing professional levels, and succeed in an environment of competing priorities. + Knowledge of network / telephony infrastructure, repair procedures and maintenance required at a level normally acquired through two (2) years’ experience. + Must possess the ability to work on teams and take direction. + Effective and logical troubleshooting skills. + Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health. **PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS** + Operates in a typical office environment or in infrastructure equipment rooms such as telecommunications closets, server rooms, data centers, or telephone system centers. + The areas are typically well-lit, temperature-controlled and generally free from hazards.
