Description We are seeking an IT Project Manager II to oversee complex telecommunications projects. This role is based in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey and is a contract-to-permanent opportunity within the IT industry. The selected candidate will handle project planning, vendor management, team leadership, and communication and reporting. Responsibilities: • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, timelines, and budgeting • Ensure adherence to established methodologies and best practices throughout the project lifecycle • Maintain a strong understanding of telecommunications technologies, such as fiber optics, wireless networks, 4G/5G, IP networking, VoIP, and network infrastructure • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring deliverables are met according to contractual agreements • Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment • Provide regular project updates, including progress reports, risk assessments, and budget forecasts • Proactively identify and mitigate potential project risks, developing and implementing contingency plans as necessary • Oversee the development and management of project budgets, tracking expenses to ensure projects stay within allocated funding • Implement quality control measures to ensure deliverables meet the highest standards • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation. Requirements • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. • Proven experience in management, particularly within IT projects. • Proficiency in creating and maintaining project documentation. • Demonstrable skill in reporting project status and updates. • Strong ability in planning and executing project plans. • Experience with planning processes and their implementation in projects. • Understanding of budget processes within project management. • Proficiency in scheduling tasks, milestones, and deliverables for projects. • Solid background in project management, preferably in IT. • Familiarity with project management software, such as About Time. • Experience in budgeting and forecasting for IT projects. • Demonstrated leadership skills within teams and projects. • Understanding of expense reporting within the scope of IT projects. • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices. • Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders. • Knowledge of best practices within IT project management. • Experience in quality assurance and quality control within IT projects. • Understanding of risk management strategies and their application in projects. • Familiarity with various project management methodologies. • Ability to ensure the timely delivery of project deliverables. • Experience in creating and maintaining project timelines. • Knowledge of risk mitigation strategies and their application in projects.
