Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - OC/INFRASTRUCTURE DIRECTORATE (IE43). Responsibilities First line supervisor of a component within a major directorate, the incumbent plans, organizes and directs the activities of a section/branch. Incumbent performs the full range of supervisory duties, managing a staff of subordinates and planning work to be accomplished, setting priorities. Coordinates, plans and schedules with other organization managers and customers as appropriate. Identifies the need for changes in priorities and takes action to implement such changes. Responsible for the successful completion of section/branch level projects and support provided to assigned programs through provision of technical guidance and oversight of project and contract management and execution. Individually, or as a member or overseer of a project team, plans, organizes, directs, and accomplishes studies, analyses and evaluations of plans, programs, projects, networks, policies, and procedures. Develops the basis for institutionalizing telecommunication networks and computer systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Supervising and managing a team within a telecommunications organization, including planning, organizing, and directing branch activities to achieve mission objectives. Experience in project management, contract oversight, and technical guidance, ensuring successful execution of programs related to telecommunications networks and IT systems. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Education There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-14 grade level. A three-year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service. This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.
