Summary About the Position: This is a permanent Telecommunications Specialist position with US Army Central Command (ARCENT) located on Shaw AFB, SC. Responsibilities Serves as Telecommunications Specialist supporting United States Army Central Electromagnetic Frequency Spectrum Manager. Responsible for operation of radios to include frequency assignment, control of operating frequencies, and allocating frequencies for units under United States Central (USARCENT) operational control. Formulate electromagnetic frequency spectrum management policy in support of the USARCENT operations. Review and recommend a command position on Department of Defense, Joint Staff, and Department of the Army telecommunication and spectrum management policies and studies. Serves as a radio frequency spectrum planner in continually developing, reviewing, and revising CENTCOM and USARCENT contingency plans. Maintains continual awareness of higher technological advances in the expanding communications field. Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience which includes 1) planning, directing, and advising on telecommunications operating techniques, programs, and requirements; 2) implementing general communication policies, regulations, technology and programs; 3) formulating electromagnetic frequency spectrum management policy in support of the USARCENT operations; and 4) managing radio control frequency allocations to ensure compatible operation.
