Versar Global Solutions, Inc. (VGS) is currently in search of a qualified Telecommunications Specialist to provide support to the United States Navy and other government entities at Comalapa Air Base located in El Salvador, Central America. This role will fall under the Base Operations Support contract.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Telecommunications Specialist will be responsible for all Telecommunication, access control, and perimeter surveillance equipment, and management, including daily system operation and maintenance of satellite, radio and telephone equipment associated with the CSL operations center.
You will hold a crucial role within a team dedicated to upholding the organization's IT operations with optimal efficiency. This designation entails vital responsibilities such as implementing necessary upgrades for hardware and software, reviewing and enhancing pertinent documentation, executing installation processes for telecommunication, access control, and perimeter surveillance equipment, and identifying and resolving problems as required.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the telecommunication, access control, and perimeter surveillance equipment, identifying and resolving problems as required.Conduct preventive maintenance and repair of system antennas.Define and resolve system circuit path problems.Document system problems and recommended solutions.Properly destroy keying material on a monthly, quarterly, and emergency basis.Load, download, inventory, operate and troubleshoot crypto material and equipment.Be responsible for STUIII/STE/VIPR operations and audiovisual equipment.Act as the CSL’s primary EKMS local element user and EKMS clerk/accountant. Complete required Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) training and personnel qualification standards (NAVEDTRA 43462). Possess in-depth knowledge of EKMS and Communications Security (COMSEC) regulations and procedures., EVOIP Services/telephones, secure terminal equipment (STE), public switched telephone network (PSTN), Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), Voice-Over Internet- Protocol (VOIP) systems, Video Teleconferencing equipment, radio antennas and equipment, encryption systems, and security camera systems, and fiber optic distribution systems. Experience with KG175-X loading and troubleshooting issues.Experience in troubleshooting DISA CCSD circuits.Due to the requirement for 24/7 telecommunication operations, the Telecommunication Specialist may be recalled after hours.REQUIRED SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:
Proven experience as a Telecommunication SpecialistProven experience with CCTV/Visual Surveillance Systems (VSS):Conduct VSS Preventive/Predictive MaintenanceAbility to Troubleshoot CCTV/VSS SystemsPerform Corrective Maintenance across CCTV/VSS and access control systemsExperience with system installations and upgrades, ensuring flawless execution from pre-installation testing to final deployment.Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network and equipment issues,EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Professional Experience & Skillset: Possess a background of 3-5 years in the field, extensive hands-on experience in Telecommunications and implementing and maintaining security systems.Experience in IP-CCTV/VSS, Access Control SystemsProficient in reading and comprehending intricate schematics and drawings, coupled with an in-depth knowledge of network infrastructures and security equipment.Familiar with diagnostic tools and techniques, capable of identifying technical issues swiftly and devising effective resolutions.Exceptional communication skills, keen attention to detail, and project management abilitiesCITIZENSHIP, CLEARANCE, DOCUMENTS:
