*Under the direction of Chief Deputy of Communications, Telecommunicators are responsible for all duties that are associated with our regional emergency communications center. Telecommunicators are tasked with monitoring a variety of radio channels and telephone lines, processing emergency and non-emergency calls for service, and performing administrative duties relative to public-safety communications.* * *Responsible for management and proper operation of all equipment and systems associated with our regional emergency communications center.* * *Telecommunicators shall monitor and process all calls for service received through our regional emergency communications center in accordance with all applicable Massachusetts regulations;* * *Telecommunicators shall monitor and process all calls for service received through our regional emergency communications center in accordance with dispatch standards and standard operating procedures.* * *Responsible for performing all associated duties in a timely and efficient manner;* * *Responsible for complete, accurate and timely call-creation in our CAD system when applicable;* * *The Telecommunicator shall accurately document all matters related to the position as they occur;* * *Responsible for participating in all training required by the position of Telecommunicator;* * *When qualified, may be required to assist in the training of newly hired telecommunicators, 9-1-1 call takers, and CMED operators;* * *Responsible for review and compliance of all applicable policies and procedures of the agency;* * *Responsible for review and compliance of all policies and procedures associated with the regional emergency communications center;* * *Responsible for observing the chain of command and following all lawful orders of superiors;* * *Responsible for conducting himself/herself at all times, in a professional, courteous and ethical manner befitting an employee of this agency;* * *On occasion Telecommunicators will be required to perform their duties under very stressful conditions;* * *Ability to work well with others, teamwork is the cornerstone in the delivery of emergency services in the Communications Division;* * *Required to actively participate in shift coverage for any vacancy that may occur, this may include forced overtime.
