Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 600 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Monitor Tech to join our team! This is a part time position working 1-2 shifts per week, or as needed. The Telemetry Monitor Tech operates and troubleshoots all functions of the telemetry monitoring system and provides concise continual surveillance and analysis of cardiac rhythms.
Responsibilities
Monitors and interprets telemetry and communicates necessary information to appropriate nursing staffPrepares and maintains telemetry documentation including charges, log book, and telemetry shift reportsAccurately records graphics and telemetry tracingsMakes note of irregular rhythms and monitors changes in heartbeatInitiates telemetry service, per orders, in a timely manner, ensuring that accurate information is entered at the central monitoring station at the time of initiation of serviceAppropriately applies telemetry leads on patients and secures telemetry unitEnsures that monitors are functioning properlyProperly cleans and stores telemetry equipment and suppliesOther duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience reading and interpreting telemetry monitoring systemsAmerican Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
