Job Description

Provides excellent patient care through monitoring and evaluating of patients requiring telemetry observation of cardiac status. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience

No minimum experience required

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a healthcare settingPossess an understanding of electrocardiogram

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Certification Summary

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Completion of Telemetry Exam with a minimum of 80%

Job Responsibilities

Monitors cardiac rhythm on telemetry monitor screen throughout shift.Performs 12 lead electrocardiogram procedure as neededEvaluates patient baseline rhythm, oxygen saturations, and any changes noted throughout stay.Communicates effectively with other staff members in support of patient care.Prepares patient properly for telemetry monitoring process.  Ensures upkeep of telemetry area to allow for most efficient workflow.Participates in professional and staff development.   Performs related responsibilities as required.
