Position Summary:
The School of Communication and Multimedia Studies at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructor position in Television and Media Criticism starting in August 2025.
The ideal candidate should have expertise in Latin American and Latino/a Media and Cultural Studies with a particular focus on television. The successful candidate will teach courses such as Gender and Television, Minorities and the Media, Media Criticism, and other courses associated with our Multimedia Studies degrees in Film & Media and Multimedia Journalism. The primary location for this position is the Boca Raton campus. Ideal candidates will have research, teaching methods, and strengths in Media Criticism, Media Studies, Television Studies, Gender and Media, Minorities and the Media, or related fields.
Past teaching experience is highly valued, and candidates should strongly understand television and media history, theory, criticism, and analysis. This is a teaching-focused position, with a 4/4 course load during the academic year and the possibility of teaching a summer course. As FAU transitions to R1 status, we seek applicants capable of contributing to interdisciplinary collaborations with other academic units and pursuing opportunities for external grants.
