The Buyer will purchase materials, equipment, supplies and services of a specialized or complex nature in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures. This is a temporary position with an estimated 6 month commitment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Negotiates, awards and administers procurement actions for commercial and Government-funded requirements
Involved in procurement responsibilities including capital equipment, software license agreements, blanket purchase orders, services, maintenance agreements, repair orders, construction contracts, hazardous chemicals, electronics and various other hardware and software purchased to Teledyne and Government specifications and drawings
Provides proposal support, as required
Frequently works with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for tracking and reporting of data
Qualifications & Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:
Familiarity with purchasing concepts and must be comfortable negotiating price and other terms and conditions
Ability to work in a high volume/pressure environment with demanding deadlines
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to make complex business decisions with minimal supervision
Ability to interface with vendors and internal customers with patience, diplomacy and tact
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
Basic computer proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree desired
Minimum of two years’ experience of being a Buyer required
Professional development courses in procurement management desirable
Previous experience in a procurement function desirable
Beneficial to have experience with ERP system of Costpoint/Deltek and quality system of Solumina
Citizenship Requirements
Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.

Salary Range:
$77,000.00-$102,600.000Pay Transparency
The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
