Position Title: Temporary Event Communications Associate Requisition Number: 0206074336 Location New York City Position Type: Administrative Position Status: Temporary/Seasonal Department: Mannes/Mannes Concert Office Responsibilities: The College of Performing Arts at The New School is seeking a highly qualified Temporary Event Communications Associate to join its production team. Reporting to the Manager of Performance and Event Communications, the Temporary Events Comms Associate supports more than 1000 events across the College of Performing Arts each year.
The Temporary Event Comms Associate is a detail-oriented, responsible, and proactive individual who prioritizes students and their experience at the College. The Temporary Event Comms Associate is an excellent collaborator and communicator with an ability to manage complex programmatic processes and operations.
This is an FLSA nonexempt hourly (15 hours per week) temporary position with a desired start date of October 21st 2024 and an end date of May 16th, 2025, unpaid winter break December 23rd 2024 – January 3rd, 2025.
This is a hybrid position, with some onsite work needed and remote options available.

Responsibilities: Act as a liaison between Mannes/Jazz/Drama departments and Event Comms to procure event information and performance schedules for use in marketing and communications Create, edit and manage event registration pages on the web-based event platform, Splash Write and design newsletters Provide social media marketing support Research, collect and organize content for Event Programs for performing arts events Edit and proofread programs Format and digitize event and concert programs using digital program platform Flip Correspond promptly and professionally with event organizers, including artists, faculty, students and staff Additional duties as assigned
Salary ● $24/hour
Work Mode● Hybrid Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Excellent understanding of grammar and ability to follow style guides Careful, detail oriented and ability to proofread and edit Proactive researcher and troubleshooter Ability to properly communicate in a timely and professional manner with artists, faculty and staff Proficiency at G-suite and ability to learn other web-based software to complete duties, like Flip HTML, Splash and Mailchimp Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in proofreading, program creation or similar area of public facing document creation.
