Temporary Part-Time Hourly Grant Administrator (CHSS/Law and Justice)

The Departmental Grant Assistant is a part-time position needed to support Law and Justice Studies’ growing interdisciplinary research portfolio by assisting with grant proposal submissions and post-award administration. The Grant Assistant must be responsive, detailed oriented, and meet all required deadlines with the ability to work across disciplines and with various stakeholders.

Proposal submission responsibilities include:  assisting with budgets/budget narratives, specialized submission components, and proposal submissions. Post-award assistance responsibilities include: assistance with sub-award contracts; getting, reviewing, and paying grant invoices; budget tracking; setting up purchase orders; serving as the financial contact on grants; submitting financial reports; assisting with program report submissions. assisting with grant award modifications; assisting with vendor paperwork and grant reimbursements; ordering equipment, software, and measures; setting up human subjects payments; and assisting with grant funded employee and student hires.

This position will also research and identify potential grant funding opportunities and assist with publicizing faculty research.

The candidate is required to work across various entities at the University including:   the Division of University Research, Sponsored Programs, The Research Foundation, Research Compliance, Office of General Counsel, and other related internal offices. The Grant Assistant would need to either already be familiar with the “Just Grants” system and “Cayuse” or will need to learn these systems. The candidate will also need to successfully complete the online "CITI Human Subjects Research Training Program" provided through Rowan University.

The position is largely remote with flexible hours but will require occasional in person meetings.

Required Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Hours:

This temporary, part-time position is assigned no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week. Work is contracted annually to coincide with the fiscal year and is contingent upon budget appropriate.
